How long has the company been providing their botox training courses?
Established training companies who have provided botox courses to medical professionals will have the experience to ensure participants receive the level of training required to produce confident practitioners.
How much clinical and training experience do the trainers have?
This is not how the the trainer has been practicing or the medical specialty, some practitioners will develop clinical experience with botox faster than others due to the volume of treatments provided.
How long should the botox training course last?
We recommend a 1 day botox training course which provides comprehensive technical theory including anatomy, mechanism of botulinum toxins, indications, dilution, units for injection, injection technique, cautions and contra indications, patient assessment, etc.
The one day botox course should also include a demonstration of the botox cosmetic treatment in a clinical scenario to ensure all clinical protocols are taught at the course.
Working in small groups and having the opportunity to review and treat a range of different patients providing clinical studies will ensure an excellent confidence with the botox cosmetic procedure and protocols.
Which botulinum toxin product should I train with?
There are currently 3 licensed botulinum toxins available for cosmetic use for frown lines.
You will find many training companies are manufacture sponsored and will only discuss their product.
BOTOX/Vistabel are seen as the market leaders in botulinum toxins and BOTOX is a registered trade of Allergan Inc.
Bocouture is produced by Merz Aesthetics and Azzalure by Galderma.
The various botulinum toxin product units and dilutions are NOT transferable.
